Students will learn how to safely and accurately use a rotary cutter and mat, an iron, and a sewing machine. Students will become comfortable with setting up and using a sewing machine safely, as well as problem solving when things go wrong.

The goal of this course is both to discover the joy of sewing and to develop the confidence to mentor young sewers as they learn how to sew simple projects. Participants will be asked to volunteer at 2 Wednesday ASEP sewing classes to apply what they are learning with young sewers.

Students will need to provide their own fabric and batting (Material costs are estimated $30 depending on the fabric selection).  Ruth will email the parents of registered students to provide details of what is needed and where to purchase.
