They’re a creative time out—a safe space to hone writing and public speaking skills while connecting with other kids, in an environment designed to be warm, supportive and nurturing. Over time, most classes evolve to operate something like a writer’s room on a television show, where young writers encourage and collaborate with one another to make their stories the best they can be, while having a ton of fun in the process. Visit Workshop 26 to learn more about camps and classes this summer and year-round. Instructor Anne Lowell has run Glorietta’s library since 2015 and was named Classified Employee of the Year in 2022. Prior to that, she worked as a journalist, essayist and grant writer, for outlets such as The New York Times, Netflix, Babycenter and The George Lucas Educational Foundation. Her essays on parenting can be found in the anthologies Modern Love, The Mommy Wars and Because I Love Her, under her writing name, Anne Marie Feld.
